In February 2026, Make A Kid Happy traveled to Medellín, Colombia, to support children living in vulnerable communities and help turn their dreams into reality. Together with our partners, we focused on fulfilling children’s wishes, creating opportunities, and documenting powerful stories that deserve to be heard. There, we met Camila, a young girl who dreams of becoming a professional football player. Her inspiring story quickly became the heart of our project, turning a single dream into something much bigger.
Camila's Fight Is Not Over
When we first met Camila in Medellín, Colombia, we met a young girl with an extraordinary dream. At just 13 years old, she dreamed of becoming a professional football player. Her determination, resilience, and love for the game inspired everyone around her. Through our project, we committed ourselves to helping her pursue that dream by covering her football expenses, transportation, equipment, and development opportunities for an entire year.
Shortly after our visit, we received devastating news.
Camila was diagnosed with a brain tumor.
The news shook all of us. For a moment, it felt as if her dream was slipping away. The football fields that once represented hope suddenly became overshadowed by uncertainty, hospital visits, and difficult treatments.
But if there is one thing Camila has taught us, it is that giving up is never an option.
Today, our mission remains the same. We continue to stand beside Camila and her family, supporting her journey and fighting together for her future. Her dream may look different today, but it is still alive. And so is our commitment to her.
Our Project in Colombia
In February 2026, Make A Kid Happy traveled to Medellín, Colombia, in partnership with Stichting Nowruz and Niños del Futuro. While Stichting Nowruz focused on organizing the Somos El Futuro football tournament, our mission centered on something equally important: creating opportunities, fulfilling children’s dreams, and telling stories that deserve to be heard.
Throughout our time in Medellín, we met children facing challenges that many of us can hardly imagine. Yet despite difficult circumstances, we found ambition, talent, and hope in every corner of the community.
One story stood out. Camila’s story.
After meeting her and learning about her passion for football, we launched a fundraising campaign to support her dream. Together with our supporters, donors, and partners, we raised the resources needed to provide her with access to football training, transportation, equipment, and opportunities that otherwise would have remained out of reach.
Alongside this effort, we started the production of a documentary that captures the lives, dreams, and realities of children and families in the community of La Honda. Through authentic storytelling, we aim to give a voice to those whose stories are rarely heard and to show the world the resilience and strength that exists within these communities.
The Somos El Futuro football tournament, organized by Stichting Nowruz, brought together young people from different neighborhoods through the power of sport. The tournament created a platform for connection, unity, and inspiration, while our work focused on highlighting individual stories and creating lasting impact beyond the football field.
What started as a project quickly became something much deeper.
It became a promise.
A promise to continue supporting children like Camila. A promise to keep sharing their stories. And a promise to remind the world that every child deserves the opportunity to dream, no matter where they come from or what obstacles stand in their way

Three organisations One goal
Together, we’re organizing a major street football tournament that brings young people together.
Beyond the games, we’re providing direct support to talented youth, practical aid like beds and sports materials, and documenting stories of strength and resilience.
EDUCATIONAL & MATERIAL SUPPORT
Providing school supplies, clothing, toys, and essential materials to support children’s development and dignity.
Every small item becomes a building block for confidence, stability, and growth.
COMMUNITY BUILDING
A dedicated building is being constructed to serve as a safe and structured place for the academy and community activities.
This space will offer stability, belonging, and a foundation for long-term impact.
JOYFUL EVENTS & CONNECTION
Through local events and activities, we create moments where children can simply be children — playing, laughing, connecting, and dreaming.
On 13 April 2025, a benefit indoor football tournament helped raise funds and strengthen collaboration between partners.
