Welcome, and thank you for finding your way to Make A Kid Happy and for your interest in our activities in Amsterdam.

At Make A Kid Happy, we believe that everyone can contribute to the well-being of children in an accessible and meaningful way. Through socially innovative concepts, we bring people together and transform engagement into tangible social impact. Our dedicated volunteer network, both in Amsterdam and nationwide, is deeply committed to organizing and facilitating purposeful activities for children across the Netherlands.

Ramadan pop up 2026

During Ramadan 2026, we will open our own Make A Kid Happy pop-up café. After iftar, visitors are invited to take a moment of rest and connection while enjoying a cup of coffee or tea, thoughtfully prepared by our Make A Kid Happy baristas. For every Happy Cup sold, €1 is directly allocated to initiatives aimed at bringing joy to children. Additional contributions can be made on-site or online to further increase the impact.

Happiness day

Looking ahead to 2026, we also plan to organize a special children’s day at a hospital in Amsterdam. This initiative is specifically designed for children who, due to their circumstances, are unable to participate in activities outside their immediate environment. Our objective is to provide these children with a carefree and memorable day, characterized by care, warmth, enjoyment, and genuine moments of happiness.

Eid Festival (on the roof of Albert Heijn)

During the Eid Festival on the roof of Albert Heijn, we brought children and families together to celebrate the end of Ramadan. With joyful activities, treats, and space to connect, a festive atmosphere emerged where children truly felt special. A unique location, but above all a special day filled with smiling faces and beautiful memories.

Eid Celebration at the Asylum Seeker Center (AZC)

For children at the asylum seeker center, we organized a warm and festive Eid celebration so they too could feel that this day truly matters. With gifts, games, and shared meals, we created a moment of relaxation and happiness. Especially for children who have experienced a lot, we wanted to offer a carefree day.

Backpack Gift Packages

With our backpack gift packages, we surprised children with a bag filled with both practical and fun items — such as school supplies, small gifts, and personal touches. For many children, it is not just a new backpack, but also a boost in confidence and a reminder that someone is thinking of them.

World Down Syndrome Day: Cooking and Baking Together

On World Down Syndrome Day, we organized a joyful cooking and baking activity where togetherness and fun were at the heart of the day. Children could participate at their own pace, explore, and enjoy. It was a day filled with pride, teamwork, and of course delicious homemade treats.

Drawing Lessons by Professionals

Creativity is a powerful way to express yourself. During drawing lessons led by professional artists, children were given the space to let their imagination run free. There was no right or wrong — only encouragement and enjoyment. For some, it was their first introduction to art; for others, a moment to let everything go.

Farm Treasure Hunt

During the farm treasure hunt, children embarked on an outdoor adventure. With challenges, riddles, and animals around them, learning and discovery became one big game. Running, laughing, and teamwork were central, while children could simply be children — exactly what Make a Kid Happy stands for.
